What sculpted tips are
On a flat tip you file the apex in yourself and hope the curve sits right across the nail bed. A sculpted tip has that shape moulded in already, so the set is structurally finished the moment it is on, and the time goes into the art instead of the build. They are also thicker through the stress area than a standard soft gel tip, which matters at stiletto lengths.
Applying them, step by step
- Prep. Push back the cuticle, remove the shine with a light buff, and wipe the plate with pH Bonder so no oil is left behind. Most lifting starts here.
- Size each nail first. Lay the tips out and match every finger before you apply anything. The right tip covers the nail bed sidewall to sidewall without pressing into the skin — if it pinches, size up.
- Apply with Extend Gel. A thin layer in the tip, a thin layer on the nail. Seat the tip at the cuticle line at roughly a 45-degree angle and roll it down to close out air pockets, then hold and cure.
- Shape and file. The point is already there — you are refining, not building. File the sidewalls straight, then take the tip down to the length the client wants.
- Finish. Top Coat No Wipe for gloss, or Bulk Matte Top Coat for a flat finish. Cure.
